Excuses, Excuses (Progress Report No. 9)

I have to admit that I've been putting off blogging intentionally, for a couple reasons:

1) I really am busy, no lie. I'm moving out in two weeks, which means taking care of lot of random items I've accumulated over the last year. I have a year's worth of TIME, InStyle, and Vogue magazines that I'm reluctant to toss into recycling, but it doesn't seem like there's anywhere for me to donate them in the area. I also have a ton of kitchenware that I'm not sure if I should toss out or not, as I have no idea how well-stocked my soon-to-be house is. (Which reminds me, I need to get in touch with the housemates soon...)

2) Blogging takes time, and with 1.5 months of freedom left, a part of me is cracking down the whip, ordering me to write as much of EP as possible before school starts. I hardly wrote during my trip (though I did do a ridiculous amount of outlining... maybe even too much), but since my return, I've managed to wrap up Chapters 12 and 13 (the latter of which, I've just realized I churned out in one week. WHOA). I'm under no illusion that I'll finish the first draft of the entire story by the end of July (HAHAHA no way that's gonna happen), but we'll see how far I get.

I did a rough tally of the word counts though, and I'm currently at around 52k words. On the plus side, WOOOT I've managed to churn out a NaNoWriMo's worth of stuff in... um, yeah, nine months (womp womp). On the negative side, I'm dreading to see how massive the final word count will be when I finally finish the entire draft...

3) Okay, I'll come clean. Once I make blogging something I have to do rather than something spontaneous, I don't really feel like doing it all that much anymore. So yes, I still plan on posting up photos I took in Europe, but (1) I'm typing this post on my work computer, and all my photos are on my laptop; (2) the trip was great and all, but it wasn't packed with juicy adventures and stories or anything that would enthrall people.

So yep, I'm still alive. Just procrastinating. And doing other tedious things.
